Stainless Steel Slit Coil and Strip Coil products are available in a wide variety of alloys including but not limited to 300, 400, and PH alloys. We stock coil as thin as .0019″ up to .062″ and serve a wide variety of applications. Gibbs Interwire specializes in narrow width slit coil as well as custom coil edging. We slit coil as narrow as 0.024″ wide and edge coil as narrow as 0.040″ wide. Our alloys and sizes include but, are not limited to:
301 stainless strip, ASTMA-666, UNS 30100, is slightly lower in chromium and nickel content than Type 302. The lower nickel content causes Type 301 to work harden more rapidly and retain greater ductility than the same temper of Type 302. Gibbs Interwire stocks 301 Stainless Strip in gauges from 0.0022" to 0.050" precision slit to widths from 0.022 to 12". Type 301 is available in a variety of tempers.
Typical applications and end uses of 301 stainless: springs, stampings, gaskets, electronics, cutting tools, shims, fasteners, zippers, clamps, clips.
The sizes below highlight a small portion of our capabilities and inventory. If you don’t see the gauge you need, contact Sales.

304 stainless steel strip and slit to width coil, ASTMA-666, is similar to Type 302, but has a maximum carbon content of 0.08%. This material has an excellent combination of corrosion resistance and formability. 304 is also known as 18/8 chrome-nickel, austenitic, stainless strip. It is a versatile alloy that welds well without filler. It’s commonly used in stampings and drawn parts. It’s non-magnetic in the annealed state and become magnetic with work hardening. Gibbs Interwire stocks Type 304 annealed stainless strip in gauges from 0.0053″ and 304 tempered strip in gauges from .0019”.
Typical Applications for 304 stainless steel strip:
316/316L to ASTMA-666 stainless steel strip are molydbenum bearing stainless steels possessing a greatly increased resistance to chemical attack as compared to that of the basic chromium-nickel analysis. In addition, Type 316 also offers higher creep, stress-to-rupture, and tensile strengths at elevated temperatures than any other stainless steel. Gibbs Interwire stocks this material in gauges from 0.005" - 0.025" in the annealed and 1/4 hard conditions.
